Church Planting
Our primary goal as a team is to see God's Kingdom expand through the growth of local churches. There are two main ways in which we approach church planting: planting new churches and supporting existing churches. In order to see local churches become beacons of light in their neighborhoods, we seek to raise leaders and equip them to raise others. We are focusing on theological training, discipleship, mercy ministry, and community development programs with current pastors and leaders in hopes of seeing them multiply in each of their ministries. Planting new churches and revitalizing existing churches takes time and we are purposefully moving slowly in order to build a solid foundation for future growth. In the years to come, we trust we will see gospel-centered churches which are centers of learning in their communities and are impacting the lives of many!
Bible Institute and Resource Center
The vast majority of pastors and church leaders in Northern Honduras have little to no formal Biblical or Theological education and often no training as pastors. Given this reality, the church in La Ceiba is struggling. In the best of scenarios the issue is lack of quality teaching and vision for the church. Unfortunately poor, even damaging, theology and teaching is often the norm. Several years ago, with no other options in the region, the team began to dream of starting our own training facility in the city.
The vision for The Bible Institute and Resource Center is to have a quality space for Biblical, Theological, and Practical training but so much more. Located just East of downtown, it will additionally have an expansive Theological library (the only one in the city), all sorts of resources for churches and leaders, and be the hub of our vocational and financial program that will help church leaders develop financial stability. We began offering Bible courses in April of 2015, held our first financial conference in October of that year, with construction on the center starting in September of 2015.
